We want to make sure you have the proper knowledge and tools to properly conduct maintenance on your compactor or baler.

Environmental Solutions is a great source to use when conducting maintenance and repairs on your waste equipment. Reasons, why waste equipment management is so important, is because if you do not conduct proper care, you will add repair costs and safety concerns. There are things that you can do weekly to help with maintaining your waste equipment, and then things the professionals need to step in for.

Weekly maintenance

Liquid Intake

Make sure the waste equipment is maintaining the correct oil levels. There is a line that will indicate how much oil should be in the baler or compactor at all times. Also, check to make sure there are no leaks or liquid seeping out of the waste equipment

Power

Check the main power source. Make sure it is always free of unwanted materials. This is needed to provide an adequate environment surrounding the power supply, make sure to wipe down as well to get substances such as grease, dust, and dirt.

Monthly Maintenance

Grease it Up

The lower hinges on the door could get stiff or rusted, make sure to keep them lubricated with grease The best way to do this would be to use a grease gun.

Nuts and Bolts

When the baler or compactor is first put in place, double check the nuts and bolts of the operation within the first week. After that make sure it is done on a monthly basis to make sure nothing becomes loose and/or unsafe.

Annual Maintenance

Send the Professionals

Environmental Solutions can assess your waste equipment and do a full check up.

It’s Electric

Check the wiring in the waste equipment. All connections should be checked to make sure they are working properly.

Hydraulic

Refill the fluid just like you would in your car. An all weather fluid is what’s suggested and what our professionals use. Also, make sure all the hoses are still in tack and still durable as they were intended. If they are weak or leaking they will be replaced.

Oil Filter

There’s an oil filter within your waste equipment that needs to be changed after the first 50 hours of use. The timeline is dependent on how often you use the machine. After that, it is required that it should be changed every 250 hours. Obviously, this will go based on your own schedule; be mindful of this maintenance procedure.carimage
